Multiple Teams · Perkins Advances to State Wresting Meet

The team had a great District Tournament!  We had four podium and earn hardware!  Cole McGuire, Seth Campbell, and Jon Hardin took 6th.  Elijah Perkins took 3rd and qualified for State for the 3rd year.  Hard work pays off, and these results show that.

The team placed 10th/46 teams, far ahead of many teams we lost to in Duals throughout the season!  Believe in the system!
Elijah Perkins became the all-time winning-est wrestler in school history with his first round victory Friday night.  The old record was 141 total career wins by Jordan Branham.  Perkins has 144 now, and is still going!
Seth Campbell ended a stellar senior season with 34 wins including 22 pins.  The team philosophy has always been…a 20 win season is good (this is always a good goal for our younger wrestlers), a 25 win season is great, a 30 win season is something special and rare.  Seth now gets to prepare to be a college wrestler at Lourdes University!
All 6 District Qualifiers won matches and contributed to the high team score!  Sophomore Cole McGuire went on a 3-match winning streak to put himself in the match to go to State and ended up 6th.  Freshman Collin Lovett won a match wrestling up a weight from his optimal weight class.  Freshman Jon Hardin also put himself in the match to go to State and ended up 6th.  FYI…there are 2 Freshman that are in the top 5 wins for the season (Lovett-29 wins, Hardin-22 wins)…We had 2 underclassman one win away from State…#FutureIsBright!
