Miamisburg Vikings Beats Greenville Green Wave Thanks to Big Third Inning
The Miamisburg Vikings defeated Greenville Green Wave 14-1 on Saturday thanks to 11 runs in the third inning. Miamisburg scored on a walk by Chris Meyers, a walk by Aaron Burns, a single by Justin Cooper, a error, a single by Ethan Schultz, a single by Meyers, and a double by Burns.
Greenville Green Wave captured the lead in the first inning. Tanner Ross drove in one when he singled in the first inning.
Miamisburg knotted the game up at one in the bottom of the first inning and took the lead for good with 11 runs in the third inning. In the third Peter Pandey walked Chris Meyers to drive in a run, Pandey walked Aaron Burns to drive in a run, Justin Cooper singled off of Pandey, driving in two runs, there was an error, scoring one run, Austin Turner hit a sacrifice fly to drive in a run, Ethan Schultz singled off of Tyler Beyke, driving in one run, Meyers singled off of Beyke, driving in two runs, and Burns doubled off of Beyke, driving in one run.
Duncan Hall earned the win for Miamisburg. He went five innings, allowing one run, six hits, striking out seven, and walking zero. Pandey took the loss for Greenville Green Wave. He tossed two innings, surrendering nine runs, and five hits.
Miamisburg Vikings collected 12 hits. Meyers, Jon Yerkins, Cooper, and Schultz each collected multiple hits for Miamisburg Vikings. Schultz, Cooper, Yerkins, and Meyers each managed two hits to lead Miamisburg Vikings. Miamisburg Vikings was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Brandon Boxer had the most chances in the field with seven.
Ross went 1-for-2 at the plate as he led the team with one run batted in.
