Lexie Rang, junior, is a 3 year Varsity Volleyball player at Miamisburg High School. She is off to a great start this season leading the entire GWOC in Total Kills, Kills Per Game, and Serve Receive Points. She is also #6 for Digs and #7 for Aces.
Lexie broke the Miamisburg school record for Kills in a 5 set match with 31 against Lebanon on August 29. Lexie has averaged 4.5 kills per set in the last 5 matches. She has also averaged double digit digs and passed over a 2.00 in the last 5 matches.
Lexie also plays club volleyball for Elevation in Mason where she is on a national level team. She devotes much of her time to training in the off-season through private lessons, speed and agility training, camps and clinics.
When asked…to what she attributes her early success this season…Lexie stated, “Volleyball is a team sport and I could not have the success that I’ve experienced without my teammates doing their jobs. Without the defenders and my setters I wouldn’t have the ability to hit the ball. We all have worked so hard this summer to get ready for this season. We have great chemistry and that is showing up in our play together.”
Lexie is hoping to continue her volleyball career in college. She is in the early stages of the recruiting process and looks forward to visiting colleges this winter/spring during her club season. She also carries a 4.036 GPA and is the epitome of the student-athlete.
