The Miamisburg volleyball program welcomed 10 new players to the sport, debuting on the 7th grade team. It was a season full of large steps in development with each athlete advancing way beyond their initial starting point. The team enjoyed several upsets of higher seeded teams and came close in many matches against gold bracket playoff teams. They also played the eventual winner of the silver bracket to a near draw, dropping the last set in a heavily contested match. The girls look forward to representing Miamisburg’s volleyball program for years to come. They finished 4-14. The Varsity team finished their season 13-11. Our record does not reflect the success we saw this year as we played a very tough schedule.
Highlights of the season:
-9 of our wins were in 3 straight sets.
-Beat Kings and Tecumseh in 5.
-Even in our losses we were competitive against very good teams (all 11 teams had winning records and a combined record of 137-60).
-Lost in 5 to Lebanon twice, and to Tecumseh in Sectionals.
-Took a set or scored in the 20s against Fenwick, Valley View, Graham, Springboro, Centerville and Beavercreek.
-In the second half of the season we saw much improvement as we won 6 in a row and went 9-3, only losing to Springboro, Lebanon, and Tecumseh.
