4 Miamisburg groups participated in MEPA Championships at the Nutter Center this past weekend and 4 walked away with gold medals. This continues a decades-long tradition of excellence in the indoor performing arts for Miamisburg ensembles.

The Sweethearts established themselves as the best in the Elementary Color Guard category on Saturday with a score of 92.81. Championships marked the end of a fantastic season that included 7 top placements. Congratulations!

The A Guard won gold in the Blue round of Scholastic Regional A Class with a score of 80.85. Their score would have put them at the top of either the Orange or Blue round, and caps off a season that includes 3 other top placements and participation at a WGI Regional. Of particular note is that is group consists of students in grades 5-8 and they compete in a class primarily reserved for high-school students.

The World Guard captured MEPA Gold, scoring 5 points above their closest competitors with a score of 85.9 in the Scholastic World class. The World Guard has remained undefeated in the MEPA Circuit this year, and this ends their local circuit season on a high note. The World Guard’s season is far from over and they will participate in WGI World Championships this week. Stay tuned to for more information.

Finally, Winds captured the gold medal in the Winds Scholastic Open class, earning a season record score of 86.85. This concludes the local season for Winds, who will also be traveling to the WGI World Championships in two weeks. Keep watching for updates about Winds at WGI.
