Vikings News · Doug Smith Named New Bowling Coach


This is Coach Doug Smith’s first year as the Boys and Girls Head Varsity Bowling Coach, pending board approval on June 27th. He is a proud alumnus of Miamisburg High School. Doug is an accomplished bowler with numerous 300 games and 800 series. Doug is a USBC Bronze Certified Bowling Coach. He has been part of the Vikings coaching staff since 2011 and has enjoyed great success. The girls have won their division 4 years in a row.  They have also been state qualifiers and a sectional champions.  The boys have qualified for state 2 of those years, as well as winning a district championship. Coach Smith credits Tony Ross for mentoring him.  They have shared the team accomplishments over the past several years along with last year’s head coach, Dave Born. Coach Smith is married to his wonderful wife, Bonnie. They have two children and five grandchildren. He enjoys bowling, golf and spending time with his family.
