For the fifth straight year, the Miamisburg High School Girls Varsity and Junior High basketball teams took part in a community outreach opportunity. The girls made over 20 fleece blankets for local students in need this year as part of the Jenna Parlette Memorial Foundation. The blankets will be presented to District Social Worker Sally Royer to deliver to those in need.
Jenna, a runner and graduate of MHS passed away while running in a cross country meet for Wilmington College. Jenna’s mother Lisa Parlette was present to share Jenna’s story along with her former track coach Kevin Walsh, one of perseverance and true inner strength.
The goal of the Jenna Parlette Memorial Foundation is to inspire and encourage students, athletes, and communities through leadership, sportsmanship, and education representing the values of Jenna Parlette. With the help of 40 athletes and coaches they did just that this past Sunday. What a way to SCORE this holiday season! For more information, please see www.jennastrong.com.
