Vikings News · Parkhurst Completes College Career at USC Upstate

Rylie Parkhurst (MHS Class of 2016) celebrated senior night Saturday February 29, 2020 along side fellow senior players (Brianna Lewis, Breanna Jefferson, Riley Popplewell, and Natalia Panufnik-not pictured).  When an injury ended Parkhurst’s basketball career early, the senior shooting guard turned her attention and effort to community service and leadership as a way to continue to contribute to the Upstate Athletics Program.  Rylie served 4 years on the USC Upstate Student Athlete Advisory Committee and is the current SAAC President.  She has volunteered at Carolina Miracle League, United Way Reading Buddies Program, McCarthy Tezler Prom, and Habitat for Humanity.  She attended th Big South Leadership Conference and represented the Big South Conference at the NCAA Women’s Leadership Symposium.  She earned academic honor roll for both the ASUN Conference and Big South Conference and is a member of Lambda Pi Eta National Communication Scholars Honor society.  Rylie has accepted a position with Reynolds and Reynolds in Dayton, Ohio and hopes to continue working with youth sports through mentoring and coaching.
